Hotmail On The Ipad

Hotmail is not receiving mail or sending it ---a message comes up at the bottom saying checking for mail but nothing ever happens.
This is new to me as have not had any bother until a couple of days ago. I also have another account and that is OK but this is not the usual account I use.
Any help much appreciated

Are you connected to the Internet. It usually say 'checking for mail' when it reconnects to the Internet in order to update your mail. If you are connected access your hotmail account by using safari to see if there are any new emails. If there are new emails there make sure your setting are correct.
