I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII mini. Every few days some of the emails I've read and deleted from a while back reappear on the phone as unread. I've just had to remove another 30, some dating back three weeks and more. Any idea what's causing this? Is there something in Settings I've turned on by mistake?

Two suggestions:-

(i) Try Settings > Application Manager > swipe to left til displaying 'All' > Select Email App > Clear Cache

(ii) If that doesn't work, delete your email account from your phone and set it up again.

Thanks, Sputnik. I've tried your first suggestion, but may have to wait a few days to see whether it's worked as it hasn't been every day. i cleared another 25 reinstated messages from the beginning of february this afternoon.
Long shot I guess, but are you synching your 'phone to a pc/laptop?
When setting your email a/c up, you didn't happen to tick something like
.. "Leave a copy on server" .. did you ?

If you did ... remove the tick.

I've had the phone for over a year, and this has only been happening for a couple of months.

I hate technology....same problem occurred today, so i took the phone to the EE shop. They had never heard of the problem, but fiddled around with it for a bit, then took out the battery and reinserted it. Ok - except that the phone is now saying it's in Safe Mode and my two games have disappeared. How can I restore it? I'm nervous of trying to do anything I'm not sure of.

Oh I don't believe this. I found info on the internet for how to turn off safe mode. I did this, and hey presto, 30 old messages (the same ones that I deleted for the third time yesterday) have re-appeared. I give up.
