I'm having problems with my Packard Bell pc shutting down by itself - I don't think that it is anything to do with the temperature, as you can be working for two minutes or two hours, and sometimes the desktop has been rotated 90 degrees. I've googled the issue, but have found so many answers it mght be that I'm a bit confused. Also is it safe to removed the back of the computer stack, so I can see if it has a lot of dust collected there, as my study could not be described dust free! It runs on Windows 7. Thanks very much.

I also did a system restore on it yesterday, and ran malware, and defragged it as well, none of which seemed to have solved the issues
While it could be a system/software problem, there is a possible hardware fault.
This can be caused by a bad connection for the processor fan. With this, if the system fails to detect the fan is in place, it will shut down in self-defence.

Open up and pull the fan connector. Reconnecting the fan should fix this - if that is the problem.

Thank you for yo ur suggestions, I will have a look inside inside the pc tomorrow.
This seems to be the problem of PCB.which is a hardware component inside cpu. You can also check by formatting windows and reinstall the new one. If still the same problem persist then you can contact Go4customer, They will help you with the same.
