I am not technically minded but there is a little battery display on my laptops that say if they are flat or not.

I think that I may get up now - in a minute or so......

Yes plug it into the mains - laptop batteries are never up to much at the bes of times

When I didn't touch my Toshiba laptop for three months it went from fully charged to 13%. My Nokia Lumia phone, when unused, drops from 100% to zero in approx. seven days.
