Does media player v10 convert wma to mp3?

You need a "plug-in" with WMP, and it's NOT free!

iTunes is free, has a better library system [and lots more things that work better], and its a free download.

Once you set the Preference for Importing [from the menu] it automatically converts any ,wmp files to your selected option [which is any flavour of mp3 or Apple's excellent mp4 /m4a/aac) codec.

Once you've used iTunes, you'll never think about using WMP10 again - promise!!

Oddly enough, I was just on the MS website and version 10 is listed as having the necessary software already. They list the plug-in for version 9.

I'm not sure either way, but my mp3 player takes wma files and that suits me

No, it doesnt. Google for CDEX which will do it for free.
