I'm going to need a fairly basic package, preferably with unrestricted downloads.  I know NTL is a good deal but friends have had bad experiences and I'm not touching it.  Any other good deals out there I should know about?  I don't really want to pay more than 20 per month and I want to keep my BT line.  Thanks!

up to 8Mbit, 10GB download cap, 19.99

If they're still doing their "invite your mate and get a tenner", I use this same username as here. Woohoo! I could be a tenner richer ;-)
Well, I've been with ntl for about 6 years now and not really had much to complain about, particularly during the last couple of years. Maybe it depends on which area you live in.
They are about to increase the broadband speed again, so I'm looking forward to that. All ISP have their problems, and from what I have read, AOL seems to be about the worst.

I cannot fault Nildram ISP at all. Been with them for a very long time, and their network has hardly any issues what so ever. The up-time of my router is 100% and the download speeds are fantastic at all times (ie. the contention rate is great). Their Tech support is second to none as well. I dont think you will find cheaper anywhere else either?!

2MB @ 15/month with a 1GIG cap (but you only get charged 99p per GIG after - so if like me you are likely to use 3GIG per month, you pay under 20)
