Hi, I've got a Packard Bell PC with Windows XP home. It's only 6 months old. For some reason, the toolbar in Internet Explorer and Outlook Express is a dark purple colour. So dark you can hardly read some of the toolbars. It has been like this since day one and I can't think what to do to get around it.

Any suggestions??

Try applying another 'theme' to your PC. Once you have booted your PC, go to any space on your desktop and Right-Click with the mouse. From the menu that appears, select Properties. Select the Themes tab and choose what ever takes your fance.

Themes change the mouse shapes, window colours, desktop picture and a couple of other things... if you dont want to change everything, select the Appearance tab and make the changes you want manually. It's a bit of a fiddly job, but also a bit of fun if you have time to kill.

The packard bell support website has a programme you can download to remove the very nasty purple they put on it!
