I have recently seen an article about converting files (primarily documents) to the PDF format. But the current PDF/A-1 format has been superceded by PDF/A-2.
Is there a free software that will run documents (OOo & MS) through a PDF/A conversion that is PDF/A-2 compliant?
(PDF/A-2 is based on the open standard, allowing it take advantage of new PDF features that make documents more usable while still being appropriate for long-term archiving.)
Thank you.

You can "Save as PDF" in the latest version of Open Office; just open them and "Save as PDF". Works very well with Open Office, word, and .rtf documents. If you're looking to convert loads of documents, you could probably write an Open Office macro?

In the meantime, I am using LibreOffice. But the task is no different. Those firms offering converting formats via an online site are too insecure. Hopefully, there is one that can be used.

As a matter of interest, I have found "PDF Candy Desktop" and "PDFescape Desktop" for Win 10. Yet to be tested!
