Can anyone help please - I am trying to create an SVCD using Nero 6 - I add all my mpeg, avi and jpeg files, it shows I have a total of 512mb to burn then I start the encoding process which takes about an hour and a half then suddenly my disk pops out and it says I don't have enough room. When I cancel the pop up saying the disk is not large enough I then have to start all over again - I press the "burn same project" button and then find that mysteriously all the data I originally added to the disk for burning has increased in size to 812mb (hence why it won't burn) - why is this - does encoding make some files even larger? Can you advise any other burning software that would be quicker too? Thanks for reading all this!!

To put an avi file onto an SVCD, I'm sure Nero has to re-encode it to mpeg which takes up much more room.
Do you have any software where you can (as a test) encode the avi files to mpeg before involving Nero just to see how much room they take up?
I use www.WinAVI.com to convert. Hope this helps
