Through the advice of an OP I have downloaded the above - fantastic - so like microsoft that you have to pay for - try it guys - much better than Open Office. Grrrrrrrrrreat!

I haven't used Abiword for about 15 years but it always seemed reliable enough to me. However I like OpenOffice, so I won't be changing back.

Even so, it's always good to hear what people think of the freebies that are recommended here, so that we can pass on recommendations to others.

buen as I used to be a professional typist microsoft word was the most used so when I used Open Office it did not offer me choices i had with word but the abi is good. Will be using for typing my personal letters etc.

I like to know what free choices are available. Never heard of Abiword before now, think I'll take a look. Thanks for bringing up this subject, Conne.
