My home internet is provided by Sky, and therefore I can use Sky for getting internet access through many cafes, pubs etc. across the land using Sky WiFi, as my wife can on her iPad. Just wondered though, do I remember that Apple has something similar to this where you can get wifi 'for free' or am I wrong? We are going touring by caravan this summer and I wonder how she will get her FaceBook/eBay fixes etc. Any ideas please?

Is the model wifi and 3G. If so you can get a Samba sim, which lets you view ads for free data. You don't have to actually watch the ads but you do get 3.5mb for each one viewed. You can build up your mbs before you go away. I do this and keep topping up as I need to. You can also pay for the mbs but they only last for 30 days, same as other sims. However, the ad mbs don't have a use by date.

This is a great way to free access if you don't mind the ads.
costas, macdonalds, starbucks, marks and sparks caffs, John Lewis, all give free wifi.

Her iPad is only the 16gb wifi (not the 3G version) so I suppose we'll just have to drink lots of coffee etc. Thanks anyway.
Do ISPs give cover to their customers when they are away from home like having a deal with BT or something?
For instance I am with TalkTalk and have no idea if they have such an arrangement in place.
Sorry if this is a daft question but does anybody know?
BT do, not sure about talk talk, why don't you check the website.
I am with BT for my home 'phone and internet access. I can use something called "BTWiFi" and "BTWiFi-with-FON" to access the 'net on my 1phone 4.

I also get these options on my Samsung GALAXY Tab2.

Don't know if this helps or not ?
Woofgang thanks for answering. I did check the website but couldn't find anything. I even emailed them and didn't understand the answer and neither did anyone else:-( BTW it wasn't something simple like Yes, you can use so and so FOC.
Mikey those BT addys you mention came up on my laptop last time I was away. Neither had the locked symbol next to them but I thought I might run up a large bill if I used them.
Wish I knew somebody else who uses TalkTalk. If I haven't found out by the next time I go on holiday I'll phone them and see if I end up any wiser.
ladybirder I just had a look and it looks like they don't. You can still get the free wifi available at Mac's M and S and so on though.
Thanks for looking Woofgang. It just would have been nice to get it in my holiday cottage in the wilds.
I'll have to do the same as Mr-H and drink loads of coffee.
