How can I get rid of the annoying start up tune that comes on when I fire up my computer?

Dell computers

MP3 or ipod??

Assuming you're running XP, Start -> Control Panel -> open 'Sounds and audio Devices', click on the 'Sounds' tab, in the 'program events' list scroll down to 'Start Windows', click it then from the 'Sounds' field select 'None'. Sorted.
