I have used ITV Player this morning on a Samsung Smart TV to watch last night's ITV3 episode of DCI Banks. This was the first time I've used it for ITV Player. Anyone know if it's possible to get the subtitles working?

I tried the subtitle button on the TV remote in the hope that may work but all it did was freeze the picture and I had to stop it and start again.

Brum Lady

We too have a Samsung Smart TV and I have had the same problem. Occasionally the subtitles appear briefly, but that's it! Annoying, isn't it?

It certainly is Brum Lady.(I'm a Brummy too).

I have asked ITV if they can help. Perhaps an email to Samsung support is on the cards as well.

I thought AB may be quicker.

Also drives me mental when the subtitles are well behind.....or complete gobbledygook.

I have had a reply from both ITV & Samsung who both confirm that subtitles are not available on the ITV App for ITV Player.

Strangely ITV added:-

"Thank you for contacting ITV. At present, we do not have subtitles available on the ITV Player app. Subtitles should be available on your television via the use of your remote control.

In the meantime, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused".

I did try the remote subtitle button, more in hope than anything else, and it didn't work.
