In Northern Ireland, does adding a HD Freeview set top box give some or all of RTE, TNaG and TV3?

Freeview boxes are designed to work with signals transmitted in the MPEG2 format whereas Saorview uses MPEG4, so a standard Freeview box won't receive Saorview channels.

However Freeview HD does use MPEG4 so, if you've got an aerial pointed at a nearby Saorview transmitter (across the border), you'll probably be able to pick up these channels:

(Even so, it might be simpler just to buy a cheap Saorview box!)

The Saorview boxes are around 50% dearer than the equivalent HD Freeview (circa £50 versus E90), hence my dilemma.
