Am I the only person who is totally disinterested with Facebook & Twitter? I have no intention of signing up with either or posting my private business for all to read.

How about having a poll? For Facebook/Twitter or against Facebook/Twitter.

To what end, on a third-party site?
I'm sure this question has been asked before.
I don't do either, I would rather not .
whats the point of the poll. you either do or you don't. no big deal either way
I like face book it keeps me in touch with my far flung family.
They are weird but I still like them a lot
That's spooky, mazie..........they say the same about you! ;o)
Facebook keeps me in touch with family too, as far away as Australia Spain and friends in Cyprus. For me its all good stuff and ignore what i dont want to read .
No poll for me thanks DSJ x
I will never expose my details to the world on Facebook, and have no interest in Twitter.

DSJ, you are certainly not alone.
I don't tweet, and only FB a little.......

I just don't see the point in debating, or having a poll, about the function of either of those sites on AB.
But it's not for all to read, any more than AB is. I use FB to keep in touch with my far flung friends and family but wouldn't dream of posting personal stuff on there any more than I would on here.
I don't get the disdain that some folk have for these social networking sites. No one cares if you use them or not.

I e-mail friends across the world in private - just me to them. That's the way I like it.

I was just curious to see what sort of following those sites have amongst ABers.

Sorry if I've suggested something stupid.
I like FB, it keeps me in touch with old friends, family and friends who have moved away (I know some army wives). Do not get Twitter really, signed up to and then got some weirdos 'following me'. Each to his (or her) own.
I do a little FB but I keep my details as personal as FB will let me. I don't twiiter, I think it's vain.
It's not stupid; I understand that Twitter and FB are not for you.
I'm just not certain that a 'Poll' would actually answer any of your questions.

Both Twitter and FB certainly do offer people platforms from which to 'over-disclose' but at the same time they are both accessible and immediate ways to keep in contact with people.
FB's the only way I keep up with family and friends' photographs...
I don't do either. I keep up with everyone via email and telephone - the same as I always have.
I think Facebook is great. It's great for getting info out lots of people at the same time, like planning a funeral, not so good when you find out your grandad has died because your cousin thought it wise to post about it at 6am.
I don't know why so many folk have attacked the idea of a poll - the figures would be on interest to at least two ABers (DSJ and me), and at the same time would be treated with the usual reservations attaining to such polls. Certainly no less interesting than car servicing or winter motoring preparations IMO.

Personally I have registered with both, but have never tweeted, and only very rarely use Facebook.
