When I am typing words to make a statement to Answerbank I find letters missing & I am constantly having to correct what I have aleady typed. When I am using my keyboard for everything else (eg. Word & Emailing) I am having no problems at all ( it has taken me ages to type this very slowly one letter at a time). Is anyone else having this problem ? My system is W7 & I am using IE9 to communicate with A/B.

Yes, I am having exactly the same problem Whiskery!!!

I thought it was just me. I use IE9 too.

Ed, are you there!!!
Yes, I am unsure what the problem is though. I will test my IE9 shortly.
I had that problem using IE but it works fine when I use Chrome
Testing on IE9 now - there doesn't seem to be an immediate problem with using IE9/W7 to browse the AnswerBank.

Do you have any add-ons or toolbars?
Is it a problem which turns up after long periods of browsing AB?
Ed, I've always had this problem with using IE on AB
I moved to Chrome as it was exasperating......very easy to do, the only problem being a slow up gradually occurs, but then rebooting every day or other day helps that
So now I'm going to have to type a long pointless reply that doesn't really say anything at all just to see if I have a problem on IE...

So far it seems absolutly fine for me, I've not had any letter jumped, missed or other strange things happen...

I'll give it one more sentence just to make sure, but so far it looks fine...

(No problems in IE here)
Same problem with IE9, not with Chrome though.
I thought it was my rubbish typing, although I have noticed it a lot on AB. My biggest problem is the freezing, it's much better than it used to be but I still have to recover now and again. Really annoying when you have just typed a reply and it gets deleted and you have to start again. I'm also on W7 and IE9
I have that problem with AB as well, but not particularly anywhere else
I'm using Firefox on W7 and have no problems at all with letters jumping in AB or anywhere else, nor freezing or any other strange problems.
You could try typing your answer on Notepad, then copy and paste it to AB. That would reduce the frustration level. (By the way, I am typing this at my normal - fairly fast - speed, and am not having the problem that you describe!)
I was having the same problem recently (most exasperating if you don't look up at what you're writing) and was on IE9.

I've now succumbed to surreptitious pressure from techies/Ed on here and use Chrome for AB. So far no problem.
It doesn't happen on my version of IE9 - not that I ever use it, really. I use a better browser ...

I would imagine the problem lies somewhere in the code that is displaying the number of characters that you've typed (the result appears just to the left of the submit button). If this code was, for some reason, running extremely slowly on some versions of IE9, it would explain why you couldn't type quickly.

Either that or it's some strange interaction with your virus scanner. Which anti-virus software are you using?
No problems at all using Firefox and XP, even when I try typing as fast as I can. What I type may be gibberish but all the letters are there.
I am pleased that you posted this WR. I thought I was losing the plot!! It doesn't happen to me anywhere except AB!!
