can i use toshiba wifi card in hp compaq laptop

hi basically i have a toshiba wifi card that i got out of a old toshiba laptop i have kicking about.And it fits my hp copaq nx9005 laptop but can i get the drivers for this to work.or because its out of a toshiba will i have probs doing this...as tried to look on net but all i get is drivers for toshiba and when i download they dont seem to want to load onto the hp laptop...any help be good thanks

If the laptop didn't come with a wireless card fitted then it won't have the antenna's in the screen for the wireless. so basically it won't work (even if you find the correct drivers for the card)

Your best bet if you want wireless on that laptop is to get a PCMCIA wireless card (a USB one would work too, but PCMCIA cards tend to be more robust and have slightly better antennas in them)

thanks chuck, also its a old laptop and runs windows xp home edition and ive just reinstalled it but windows update doesnt seem to work now.has xp and update stopped doing it becuase of the age of xp now..i assume they do after so long.just wanting to see if this the reason....
