My o/s is XP. I can play audio cd's through my computer from my cd roms to speakers.  I can play system sounds to speakers.  I can play mpg/avi with video and sound from my hard drive.

My problem is that I cannot get hear any audio from any dvd disk from any of my dvd drives (I've tried 3), the video is perfect.  All my drives have been enabled for digital cd audio although I have tried them disenabled without success.

Any ideas anyone?

I had the same problem and on the computeractive forum I got an answer to download a AC3 filter, if you google it you should find it ok.

Thanks very much Dougielogan, that did the trick.  The next question(s) is/are:

Why didn't I know about having to fit an AC3 filter? and

What is it?...I'll look on google again for that.

Thanks again.

I think it is some sort of codec or something im'm not sure but it did the trick for me as well.
