hi can anyone tell me if it is possible to send whatapp for free from a pc? or is there another way of sending free text messages to a uk phone that someone is travelling with in europe?

WhatsApp's developers have said that they have no intention of developing a PC/Mac version of the app, as it is intended solely for mobile devices. Shame, really. Depending on which mobile network you're with you can usually send free 'web-texts' to a mobile handset as part of your monthly allowance. I know that O2 definitely provide this service, not sure about others though.
