I have seen references to a torrent downloader called µTorrent and am wondering how it is possible to type in the Grrek character at the beginning? (I got it with copy and paste but I'd like to know how to do it without installing a Greek keyboard!)

Thanks

In Microsoft Word, you select the menu item Insert / Symbol... and get a dialog box with a grid of all sorts of graphics including Greek letters. I think - I'm not sure - that when you select one, it shows you how to also get it direct from the keyboard with the ALT key pressed down.
Have you tried holding down CTRL + ALT and typing 230 on your numeric keypad (Hoping you've got one)

µ
By using the alt key and number pad (make sure numlock is on).

I see that mike has posted the link I've just been looking for. I'll save meself the bother... ;-)
Just as a matter of interest, and something I discovered purely by accident when using a plug-in keyboard which had a numlock key but no number pad; with the numlock on, the keys:

7 8 9
U I O
J K L
M
will generate the digits from 0 to 9.
Can't you get them from the computer character map? Go to all programs, in your main menu then to accessories, then to system tools and then into the character map. Might take a bit of searching but I'll be surprised if you don't find something in there
You don't need to install a Greek Keyboard - just a Greek keyboard map, which you can do in Regional settings. All you need then is a picture of a Greek keyboard to refer to so that you know which key corresponds to which Greek letter.

I have one for writing Russian. Having installed it one can switch from Roman to another script by pressing alt + shift.
you dont need to type in greek, just type in utorrent and you'll find it, top of the listings
