dial up connection wizard

i recently cancelled my broadband and intend setting up new isp--in meantime have been trying to set up a dial up connection using create new connection wizard(in xp)--when i run wizard i choose connect to internet--then set up connection manually--next window has 3 choices--using modem--i think connecting to a network and finnally connect thru broadband--the 1st 2 are greyed out and only the broadband option is available and chosen--cannot do anything else--have disconnected my b/band modem--uninstalled software--checked with bt and been assured my line has been reset--uninstalled/reinstalled dial up modem--reinstalled xp--scanned for viruses/spyware/adware etc--all clear--i'm stumped--please anyone any suggestions--using library comp just now--no other way of getting online--thanks all

i might be wrong ajmmac as ican't quite get my head around this one ,but surely you wont get the option to connect to the internet without sighning up to an i.s.p and installing their software.otherwise we coulds all go online for free.
