I have the kindle 3.3 keyboard. I bought two audiobooks from kindle but neither would work. There were no controls at the bottom, like play, pause, f/forward or anything. Can someone give mean idiots guide what to do once its downloaded onto the kindle.
I also have kindle on my ipod touch and it worked there??
Any help please.
Thanks

Not clear what you mean by "bought from kindle".
I play audiobooks on my Kindle, but how I play them depends on where they were sourced.

If I bought them them from Audible (which is part of Amazon) I use the Audible Manager to transfer them to the Kindle, which then recognises them and if play them it gives you the usual VCR type controls on the screen.

If they are mp3s, they have to be played in the same way as music mp3s (off the top my head) select "Experimental" from the menu, then "Play Music", but you don't get any kind of controls appear. You have to do everything through the menu system.

I bought it from Amazon...Robinson Crusoe actually. But when I click on the files at the end of the book, it says it cant open these files. I dont want to be an audible member and pay a monthly subscription. I'm basically wanting to try them. When I did it before it played on kindle, on my ipod touch. I will try through the experimental menu.
Thanks again
You need to download the audiobook on your pc, than copy to the kindle as you would a music file.

From the description on Amazon

"included free audio-book link, all 20 chapters for download (which can be downloaded separately using a PC/Mac) "

ok. I think I'm getting it now? so it works like the music albums I've loaded from my pc. In other words, not the best system. Like my music, I just have to keep flicking on until I get the album or disc I like. No list anywhere.
Thanks again
