I get mail that comes into my junk mail folder. I mark these as Phishing Scam thinking that it will stop them. They disappear only to return again and again, day after day.

What is the point of marking mail as Phishing Scam?
Seems a bit pointless if nothing happens.

I use Yahoo mail. That is what happens with anything I mark as 'spam', it ends up in Spam folder. What are you wanting to happen?
When you mark it as Phishing Scam who is notified?
Anything I mark as a a phishing scam just ends up in my deleted folder. That may be your answer.
^That's with Hotmail^
the same scams use hundreds of email accounts so th ones getting through are sent in bulk from same people but slightly different addresses

I suppose I was under the impression that "somebody" does something about it.
I'm on hotmail too.
I thought if I marked it as phishing scam I would not receive any more?
Even if they were reported I don't think the email service providers have the capacity to stop these spammers who seem to be able to set up lots of new addresses everytime some get blocked
As well s hotmail I use an address linked to my service provider. He one ith my service provider will block any I mark as spam, phishing . If they miss some I phone them and they sort I out.
Hundreds of things go into my spam box each week - nobody knows, Mass, only you.
Who do you believe look at these spam mails when you click on "spam"? I can assure you that there is nobody from Microsoft investigating these.

i'm not worried about them, I never open them. I'm just fed up of receiving them over and over. What do they hope to achieve?
It's the American way. Somewhere to put embarrassing sh1t out of sight, everything's fine folks, carry on.
