just about to change internet provider and had one hell of a problem getting the mac number. the operative( who was southern Irish) started off all polite, then offered some goodies, then when I still insisted I had had enough of their useless service he got louder and louder and more irate. suddenly a recorded message came on saying a mac number would be sent. are all internet providers this nasty? I now know why this one came bottom of the satisfaction league.

Would that be AOHELL, by any chance, I had to threaten them to get a MAC number, when I finally got it they started hounding me everyday with phone calls about staying. Never again.
''who was southern Irish''

^ Is that relevant?

If you feel that strongly about it complain, 'after' you've received the Mac number.
lol, guessing it was aol too. My Oh got ours no problem, all he did was answer the question of "why do you want to leave?" with "no particular reason, I just want to cancel" you could hear the operators looking up and down their list of standard answers to find that there is not an come back to that statement so they just sent it out!
Pardon my ignorance but what is a mac number and why do you need it if you wish to change ISP?
It's a migration number you need to give the new provider, that can't initiate a service for you without it.
Shoud read they can't.
Bugger!

I mentioned they were southern Irish, as usualy tyhey are indian or pakistani people. AO Hell is about right.
It was the southern irish accent that tipped me off to them being AOHELL.
