Where Did My VOLUME Icon Go ??

I had a little icon, like a loudspeaker, on the bar at the bottom of my screen.

If I clicked on it, it brought up a little volume slider.

Then today ... there it was ... gone! (said with Welsh accent, for humorous effect).

Does anyone know how I can get it back?

I have Windows 7, if you need to know that.

is there a little arrowhead at the bottom right of the screen pointing to the left? If there is click on it to show hidden icons

Maybe the volume icon software had a built in vanishing programme timed for this week???

I just tried this at home, there is an upward pointing triangle to left of little icons, it displays hidden icons, I'll bet it's on there, if it is you can 'drag' it back to its original location.
