Visitor can't see my wireless connection

I am set up with a Virgin Broadband fast wireless router.

I connect to it via my laptop.

I just had a visitor who, when he attempted to find my network to logon to, got a list of about 10 local networks, but NOT MINE!

Is there anything I could have inadvertently done to "hide" my network to all except my own laptop? If so how can I reverse this?

Thanks
