I bought a small TV as an emergency when our big one went up the Swanee last November. Long story short, when I got a new big one I decided to use it as a PC monitor for the PC in the bedroom (works fine BTW).

But being a tv, I figured I might as well use it as such, and since then have bought 3 aerials, all of which claimed they were ideal for Digital (I'm in an all digital area). The latest was today, and being the most expensive so far, I had high hopes. Incidentally, the last two bought included signal boosters.

However despite being about 20 miles from the transmitter (Sandy Heath) and also the bedroom window near where it's situated being in the direct line of it, I cannot actually get any channels on it, It does the scan but says none are found.

Any ideas?

No large buildings in the way?
Do you have anything like foil-backed plasterboard in the room lining?

No large buildings, and I dunno about the foil, but the aerial (whichever one I have tried) is set up right by the window which as I say is facing the transmitter.

I had assumed I'd have no problems as (being all digital now) the signal strength was upped on changeover.

Short of getting a feed from the main aerial which I don't want to do (not THAT important) I don't know what I can do.
Try taking the set downstairs & doing the 'channel scan' with the main aerial plugged in.

Then take it back to its normal bedroon home, connect your indoor aerial & see if it will pick up any of the channels - you can try all sorts of placings & directions without having to rescan every time.
What type of digital receiver are you using?

I feel a fool!

Having just come upstairs and looked at the aerial again, I spotted a dial on it, turned it on, and am just doing a scan. It seems to be picking up channels OK now. My fault because (a) I never even read the leaflet or looked closely at the aerial, simply plugged it in - I never expected you had to turn a dial on first.

Ta for all replies and if nothing else, it gave you something to think about for a minute.
