I am drying it out very slowly. The first I knew was when the screen had lines going down it. Then there was no picture at all, although I could hear it clunking when I pressed the menu thingy at the bottom. Now no picture and no clunking after it's been charged.
Any ideas please?

If you do get it working again, chances are the touch screen won't ever work the same, if at all.

I took my old phone into the sea, swimming (as a little treat for it) and it was well and truly screwed.

Oh thanks Flip, mine didn't go swimming - it was just in my pocket on a very wet walk today. I haven't had it long, so may be able to take it back to the shop. Can't remember whether it is insured or under guarantee. Will have to check.
I don't think they're likely to do anything under the guarantee policy, as I think that just covers it for faults.
The insurance would, though it would be "accidental", so make sure you say you dropped it in some water, as opposed to it being in your pocket and getting moisture damage :-)

Thanks very much Flip. I will try that (if I can find the paperwork)!
How did it get wet?

If it was in the washing machine then the best thing you can do, so I'm reliably informed by an electronics wiz, is to immerse it in distilled water as the soap from the WM will corrode the contacts (happened to my daughter's phone)
No probs :-)

If you find you didn't insure it, then you can probably claim on your contents insurance, if you have it.

Good luck :-)
