PS3 mini USB cable question

I can't find my original PS3 mini USB cable anyway. So, I bought two from Amazon - for £1.40. But whenever I put them in to charge, they're not working. Every time the pad vibrates the game pauses and the pad goes off.

I did leave them to charge; one has charged but the other hasn't?
