I have made a slide show of photographs (JPEG) along with music (MP3) to accompany them, using Windows Movie Maker.

I have then transferred these files onto a CD-R disc, and the slide show works perfectly when played on my computer, in Windows Media Player.

Will I be able to watch this slide show on my TV, by playing this disc in my Sony RDR-HXD 870 DVD recorder/player?

Have you 'closed' the disc? aka finalising.
i did the same as you and it works fine on mine.
You have a DVD player - you need to make a DVD slideshow. NOT CD.

I do it often as it is a service I offer for my wedding photography. I use Pro Show gold
