I have an iPod Mini (yes, yes ... I know).

The reason I still run with it, is that it has most of my songs on.

Is there any easy way of transferring the whole lot, lock stock and barrel so to speak, across to my iPod Nano ???

No, not really.

you're meant to use Itunes, add the nano as another device and sync the same playlist to that.
set it up through Itunes

Whooosh !!
Is that the sound of the above info rushing in one ear and out the other?
Question Author
It's the sound of "sync the same playlist to that" and "set it up through iTunes" going straight over my head.
How did you get the music on the Mini initially then?

I'm a bit of a thicky when it comes to iPods.

I just add tracks on from time to time.

Now I want to move them to a more compact iPod (for running).

I plug both iPods into my lappy.

They both pop up on iTunes.

iTunes won't let me drag songs from one iPod to the other.

snags ...

Some individual songs off my CD's.

Some bought one by one off Amazon.

It would take forever to do it all again.
Make a new Playlist... drag all the songs you want from your overall Library in to that Playlist... then autofill from that new Playlist...
Question Author
If I'd kept all the songs in my library, I wouldn't need to try to get them off my old iPod.
Doh. You're buggered then aint ya.
sync your ipod, it will upload the music on to your library
Question Author
cazzz ...

Will it?

Or will it wipe all the songs off my iPod and replace them with the songs still on my lappy?
itunes normally updates the library when it finds new songs have appeared
Does it?
It did on mine, maybe I have a special one..?
I thought the whole (annoying) thing with iTunes was that it lets you copy from iTunes to iPod but not the other way round... hence software similar to and including my link up there^^
Just connected my iPod in to my iTunes and it won't let me copy content from iPod to the iTunes Library...
