To 'shrink' a video?

How do I send a small video(80mb.wmv)to a friend, as an attachment to an email, without getting it refused as too big?
Can I 'shrink' it first and then send it,or will that destroy the quality or the structure of the file?
It seems rather wasteful to commit a DVD of 4.7Gb with an 80mb file to the post!
Any help please?
Thanks

Just tried that and it worked first time...brilliant! Thanks very much Trimeresurus. I shall now send the details to my mate and he can download the file.
Cheers again
