ive looked up the rates from skype anywhere in world to netherlands and its coming in at around 1.4p per min, though ive been talking to my friend tonight and its charging me 18pence per min !!!!! he is on o2 pay and go , and apparently he has a bolt on to allow other people in different countries to call him for a lesser charge.

why am i being charged so much . i cannot seem to find skpe customer services either, i awant to mail them to ask why ?

not happy :-(

It costs Skype far more to connect into a mobile network than to a landline one.

Calls to the Netherlands are charged at 1.6p per minute to a landline but 17.9p per minute to a mobile:

Using a Tesco calling card costs 1p per minute to a landline or 10p per minute to a mobile:

thanks guys for your help, i think the best way to call my wife and kid from holland when i get over there is to add a subscription on sype to phone my family back home in uk on the home telephone number ? would that be best do you think ? works out around £10-99 per month subscription to call landline from skype ( unlimited per month ) am i right ?
It's just €5.74 (inc VAT) per month for unlimited calls to UK landlines, from anywhere in the world:

The 1.4 p per minute is for landlines. You were probably calling a mobile phone or premium rate number, which simply cost more. Nothing Skype can do about that.
