paypal error code 10417

Hi ... Does anybody know anything about paypal error code 10417?
Thousands of people trying to purchase items from e-bay are unable to pay with paypal with no joy... All paypal and e-bay are saying is , "Use another method of payment!"... No help at all !!... Arrrgghh !!!
Is there anyway around this problem ?

Is your bank card linked to your paypal account going to expire soon?

Nope ... and have double checked with the bank .. card has plenty of time to run ans there is no problems there . Have looked on a paypal forum for answers... there is no answers there, just a lot of unhappy shoppers.

You can send money by PayPal without going through eBay, that's how it would work. You just have to have the other person's email address.

Nope .. sorry .. no joy .. same old thing .. going round in circles.
Writing letter (e-mail) of complaint to paypal... wonder if that will do any good, she says tongue-in-cheek.. lol

It seems to be that the seller has set a payment method that you cannot use for some reason, wrong currency perhaps? This is from Paypal's error codes list:

10417
Transaction cannot complete.
The transaction cannot complete successfully. Instruct the customer to use an alternative payment method.
Instruct the customer that PayPal is unable to process the payment and redisplay alternative payment methods with which the customer can pay.

So it appears that the seller has to correct the mistake.
