Just received unlocked nokia X30-02 & no signal with my orange simcard..?

Anyone got any ideas why? I can put it in, turn it on etc with no sort of simcard not accepted warnings- there's just no signal? It's a 3G simcard (...it says it on the back!) but had no trouble with it in my ancient sony ericsson which definitely doesn't have 3G!
