My Sanyo TV will not re-tune

I have got a Sanyo IDTV, model number CES32WSD7-B. I printed the instructions for its re-tuning from the internet. When I turn the TV on, the first thing that appears on my screen is "P 11 mono ..." then it changes to "no signal".
I press "M" for menu. There is a horizontal list of options with a picture against each one. These are picture-sound-feature-install-source- then there is a picture of a television that my remote cannot take me to.
According to the internet instructions, when I pressed "M", I should have got a rectangular box with "main menu" at the top; "channel list" next down; "installation" next down. This does not appear. My "install" option on that horizontal line does not give me the next required option which should be "add new channels".
Please help.
