I have a "magic Eye" so that the tv in my bedroom can be used as though I have the skybox in there. The magic eye works on other tv's but I can't even get the light in the connector to come on. I have an ariel running from the tv (with the skybox) to the bedroom and get a reasonable picture, but just can't use the "eye" can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Have you checked all connections, made sure they are in securely?

Well, eldest son did, maybe try it for myself when he's not around!!
I've learnt the first thing to do with electric thingies is to check wiring and check the plugs are working...then go for the more difficult stuff!

Cheers. I'm still struggling to get F1 grand prix on series link. Can do it ok for qualifying but the race- no chance. I posted this problem about a year ago and still can't suss out what I,m doing wrong - mmmmm maybe wont hold my breathe on my ability for this one either. ha ha
Unless it's sky plus I can't help as that's the only thing we use with series links.
Question Author
Yep, the old sky plus. Last time someone did tell me that I have to "link" qualifying and the race separately, female yeas but I,m definatley not quite that daft!!
Oh jeez me and my brain. I see you have sky, well it is getting late lol. With series link you would have to link it to the main race programme for when it's broadcast, not from the qualifying race (I think). That's how I'd do it anyway. Hope that helps?
Question Author
Thanks for that, not sure what the main race programme is, unless you mean the actual race? I do this religiously every time, works ok on qualifying so I'm stumped. Maybe I am dafter than I thought - lol
CJ the programme that comes up as the main race on the day it's run is the programme I would record to watch it. I wouldn't trust the series link put on the qualifying race programme to record the main race the next day. So in effect you would record the qualifying race AND the main race,...two separate programme. Hope that helps and I'm not confusing you more (I'm easily confused so I could pass it on to others you know lol).

Confused.com, only joking!! will give it a whirl, thanks a lot for your time and patience.
If the light on the connector does not come on, this would indicate that you have a bad connection somewhere between your sky box and the connector, especially if it works correctly when connected to other tv's. I occasionally get the same problem, even though the picture is fine. The only way round it is to fiddle with each connection until the 'magic eye' lights up (usually found to be caused at the sky box outlet).
1) the magic eye must be connected to the RF2 output on the back of the box. (it will not work ever connected to RF1)

2) you need to switch on the RF2 power output in the settings on the sky box.
