You don't say what format the photo is but you can first re-size the photo before attaching it, You should also send it as a jpeg which is only 20% of a bitmap if that is what you are using, or insert it as a picture into the body of the letter and adjust the size using the 'handles' ( small squares on the corners and the sides of the photo ).

Hi Modeller the photos are jpg and as there were several that I sent putting them into the "body" of the email would have been impractical. Thanks for your quick reply!!!!!
It shouldn't matter how many you want to send . I often send 8 in the body of the letter . Each one can be adjusted down to thumbnail size . I sometimes do both , resize attach and insert .
If you just have the corner , if you click on it and see the corner handle can you put the curser on it ? If you can you should be able to move it diagonally which will make it any size you want .
I often get enormous pics. from my daughter which I just open and it is OK or I can adjust.
I've had a further thought , you could put them in a folder and attach the folder.
The recipient would open them up in whatever graphics app. they are using.

Hi Modeller,it's not the size that the recipient gets(I assume they are ok or else something would have been said)it's at my end when reviewing what's been sent.As for clicking the cursor at the corner, one does not appear for me to do that exercise.Ah well, thanks for trying!!!!
Ah I get it . No you can't alter the size of the photo in the body of the letter once it is in the SENT folder but you can click on the attachment and then it will open in your graphics app. Where you can view it in any size you want.
I assume you do sometimes send them to yourself so you can see how the recipients are getting them .

I've found that if I go to Windows photo gallery for my attach's and email them from there and not the other way round(ie Win mail..... find photos)I don't get my initial problem of oversize photos. Thanks for your replies one and all!!!!
