Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the square that has 3G printed in it that has appeared on the display my Sony Ericsson phone? It is driving me crazy trying to fathom out how it got there and what it means. The user manual is useless,it just says something about another network available and I can,t shift it.Help please ??

It's nothing to do with your network provider, nor can you get rid of it. The 3G is the level of service your phone is receiving (to allow you decide whether to connect to the internet on it - nothing more annoying than to use your charges to connect to an Edge reception). On mine it says H for HSDPA. Basically - it's saying you can get 3G broadband when yo can see that. In other geographical areas with a poorer signal, that will not appear.

Ahh !! thanks for that.It now makes sense.I have thought once or twice I have got rid of it by 'fiddling around' but obviously I have been in an area out of range. At least now I know that it is not something I have inadvertently loaded on.Thanks again, much appreciated.
