Since Wednesday I have been unable to use my pc as it is unable to load Windows, Mr Jules looked at it, he knows a thing or two about these things, and told me it was unable to find my C Drive, he tried to borrow a lead to enable recovery of my data, but was unable to do so, he had another look at it last night and this time it found the C Drive and whatever he did seemed to resolve the problem, he also managed to back up all my data. This morning I switched on the pc and it loaded successfully, I didn't do anything on it, went off to walk dog, check greenhouse etc, came back just about to start doing stuff on pc and got the Windows not loaded successfully apology page, tried to start windows normally from this page, just goes around in a loop. Tried to reboot again just now, and held down F10 for recovery, this then came up with a logo page, not seen before and then a dialogue box named cmd.exe/k startnet.cmd-startnet.cmd. Obviously it is now waiting for a command, can't get hold of Mr Jules at work and don't want to just close or cancel this box as I don't know if I will cause probs by doing so, any advice on what to either type or do with this box would be gratefully received. Am now posting from another pc in the house, but all my work I need to do is on the other pc.

Hold down the power button for more than 5 seconds and it will turn off the computer, then if your husband does know what he is doing leave it to him when he comes in.

If he has taken a backup as you say you have nothing to worry about as your data is safe.

Thanks Chuck, I will turn it off and leave it to him. Best all round methinks :)
