Kiindle sound

I downloaded Kindle on to my PC but it appears it is only a reader there are not any of the facilities such as sound. Am I right ?

The Kindle (as in the device, rather than the software which you've downloaded) is designed to allow users to read electronic books.

The software which you've downloaded enables your PC to emulate that function (so that Amazon can make lots of money, by selling you eBooks, even though you don't own a Kindle) but that's all that it will do.

My Kindle model has the speech built in but it is very elecronic sounding.

schieh Which model do you have ? I was thinking about the DX version for the bigger screen. I doubt the sound would be any better , small speakers always do sound tinny.
