Windows 7 Desktop Font

I find the standard desktop font difficult to read and would prefer a simple all black one.
I can not find out how to change it but can not believe it is not posible.
Any advice greatly apreciated.

I have printed out the instructions on severn forum the relevant stuff runs o over 5 pages so I will need some time to get my head round it all.
Now I know about severn forum I am sure I will join up.
