If I remember rightly, you have to stretch the Excel 'background' so it covers both monitors.

Then open your 2 spreadsheets and click Window and Tile. That should then put them side by side.

I presume that the 2 spreadsheets you are working on are different files and not just different worksheets of 1 file?
Press left mouse on blue margin-top of window & drag.

tambo, it takes both docs, i want one on each screen
You've got to tell excel to let you open two instances of it.

Tools > options, click on general tab and tick "ignore other applications", click OK and you should be able to open two copies and move one to each monitor.

chuck i can find ignore other applocations that use dynmaic data exxhange but that does f all, ticked or unticked....

i'm using 2007
That is the correct option in 2007 (sorry, my instructions were for 2003)

If you tick that and then close excel totally then start excel using the shortcut on the start menu (or quick launch) but not by clicking on an excel file you should be able to get two separate copies of excel to load and then you can open the files using file > open in each copy.

Should work, But I'm going from memory here as I'm off work this week so don't have either dual monitors or excel to try it myself here.
