Me too, it seems to have been playing up for the last few days:
I can't erase comments, MAKE comments, log out, open chat and one of
two of my friends' profiles won't open either.
I was just about to re-boot/check for connection probs with my ISP
until I saw your message -are you also on Virgin Media?
(just to rule that one out). The tracking cookie is probably just the device
that lets you log in without having to keep re-typing your password/username
so it's unlikely to be that.
Most likely causes of all this trouble IMO:
a) service provider trouble b)internal faults with FB

I'm going to see if it's any different in Explorer now.

I am always having probs with facebook, the oops message comes up frequently, if I play any of my games it sometimes wont save and I lose any points I make. Logging off is never easy either, and sometimes u log off and when u go back in after yr still logged in, I find it very confusing. so yr not alone.
I have had probs today with Facebook - gremlins in the works I think.

Hiya Jan - how are you ?
my two favourite people both on the same page
yippppeee
Awww - thanks Joy.
Just checked it with Explorer (I use Firefox normally) - same problem.
Reading the above whittles it down to: internal fault with Faecesbook AFAIC
One of my friends there just posted this message:
"Facebook is hiring Site Reliability Engineers in the UK and Ireland to keep Facebook systems fast and reliable."
Hmm :-/
