Hotmail - Can't open emails

For the last few days I have been unable to access any emails in my hotmail account

Logging in/out is ok but when I try to open emails, or move to other folders, the 'loading' box appears in the bottom left hand corner and the mouse pointer is accompanied by the 'busy' sign, and no matter what I do it won't stop.

Can anyone suggest a solution?
