Thanks very much Ethel.

Can you please tell me how I can transfer a link such as this for example, using that free programme, audacity?

http://www.radiocrazy.com/shows/B/BorisKarloff /57-12-16_BorisKarloff__ChungLingSoo.mp3
Well, I went to the link and right-clicked on the Quick Time file and I had the option to save the file to my Real Player Library - which I did. I now "own" the file on my PC. I could burn it or do whatever i wanted.

Do you have any options when you right click? The Real Player application is a free download as well.

I use RealPlayer too for various things, but Audacity is excellent if you learn how to use it properly. For basic recording:

Pause music at start.

Open Audacity - File - New Project - Save as.

Make sure drop down box is set to 'stereo mixer' not 'mic'.

Press Record and start the music in the radio prog

Press Stop at the end

File - export as mp3 (or whichever format you want)

Thanks for answering
Cancross & Ethel

When I click on the link all I get is the play bar, and it starts playing straight away.

If I right click on this the only options I get are:-

About Qicktime plug-in
Plug-in settings
connection speed
Quicktime language

The other options are faded out:-

Open this link
Save as source
Save as Quicktime movie
