Why is it that when I leave my PC on and dont use it for some time I loose my connection and have to restart my PC before I can use the internet?
Is there somewhere on my PC I can go to and make some alterations? I am on Windows XP, I have Orange Broadband.

I had a similar problem which was down to a Zone Alarm setting. If you're using it, I'll post the details.
Possibly.............some of the cheaper broadband providers "share" your connection to save money - after a period of inactivity they'll automatically unplug you to save their resources.............

4candles....Yes I am using Zone Alarm.

The Builder...You might be right although I wouldn't have thought that Orange could be classed as one of the cheaper providers.
OK - this is for ZA 7 Free. On main page, select "Firewall", then "Main", then click the grey "Advanced" box. In "Adanced Settings" tick the option "Allow Outgoing DNS/DHCP in Internet Zone on High setting".

NB: I had to tick the box again after the last update.
