Does anyone ever use this to contact old friends, or does everyone do what I do and just go on for a look to see who is registered and what they are doing now? Thing is, my memory is getting so bad, that I am not sure if I actually remember anyone on there. I am pretty sure I could look up any school and think I recognise just as many people!

annie, I used to be registered on it. Thats how I started seeing my ex (he emailed me btw)

I used to remember a lot of the names though of others I went to school with. But they all seem to lead such exciting lives! (or so they say) lol
I just generally have a look around, remember a few names i'd forgotten. Hi Trinny btw!

Hi Trinny, either my memory is shocking, or I am a lot older than you, cos I look at the names, and some seem familiar, but I really struggle to put a face to more than about a dozen! I know what you mean about the exiting lives, I put that down to the fact that the ones with boring lives don't have anything in their profile! - or they are lying ;-)
Question Author
Sorry - meant to say, did you go out with him at school or were you just friends then?
I actually contacted my first ever boyfriend from many years ago. He is safely in Australia and so we can chat and reminisce. When I look at the list of names I KNOW that many of them were not at school with me! Why do they post themselves on the wrong school or the wrong year? Most of the ones I'd love to know what they are doing actually don't post anything about themselves (neither do I) and of the ones that do say what they are doing now..... they all seem to have fantastic lives and amazing jobs.....not sure I believe them! If they are telling the truth then I've gone terribly wrong somewhere.
hi linda xx

annie, I never put anything in my profile either lol....I also noted the ones who had exciting lives, also put pics of themselves on there (bigheads)

No, he wasn't my b/f at school, he was the best friend of a boy I was going out with (was 15) so innocent schoolgirl crush/obsession :)
We can all say anything we like online Annie. They could be twisting the truth in many ways...Everyone wants the people they knew as teenagers,to think that they have all had really interesting lives!..
I did contact an ex boyfriend, who emailed me back that he was living in America and had a very good job by the sounds of it.....Grrr
I have a look on there now and then but I find it strange reading about them now, I just think of them how they was at school and wonder how some of them managed to get the jobs they are doing now

Hi Pirate - I know what you mean about people not giving any details - I went to a very large school, so it is entirely possible that these people were in my year (there were 16 registration classes - average 30 per class) also people could leave in 4th, 5th or 6th year at high school, so you have to check over the 3 years and those would include people who would not have been in any classes with you as they were in a different year.

I wonder how much people exagerate - one guy I went to school with says that he lives in London and produces for the BBC - I keep checking the credits for his name, but haven't seen it yet!
I dated a guy who worked in a junior way for the BBC in Belfast, and,he kept dropping it in conversation, and insisted in parking in the BBC car park even though there were nearer car parks..Bless him!!

Aww - it's cute when people are proud of their work rather than embarassed!
I know..I 'm as bad as you now Annie, cos, thinking about this,I can only remember his first name..!! Mists of time and all that !!
Probably black and white pics don`t help either linda eh?
You cheeky git Elvis !!..Thats you off my "happy AB Christmas, have a brill time " list !!
I think most people initially go on in the hope of getting their leg over with someone they used to fancy
Hello Annie!! I'm on there, and only recently decided to actually put my profile on because I wish other people did. I was very honest though - told them I had my own global empire building and selling luxury yachts to anyone who could afford the 8-figure price tag. Just the same shy girl they knew from school...

Seriously though, I was painfully honest, but drew the line at photos and favourite words etc. I also contacted 2 or 3 old friends - even googled one who now looks VERY George Clooney-ish!! Honestly! And on paper sounds like he's done very well for himself, but he's still my stupid mate, just stupid and 40 now. We keep in touch and hubby doesn't mind. the best one though, is a total nerd called Bradley. Of all the things he could have been, I would never have said he'd end up as a "Lifestyle Coach and Inspirational Speaker" but that, so he says, is what he is!! (Of course he's now BRAD, not Bradley...) He's one of the few who's put photos on, but also website links etc and he lists his favourite words as "YES!" and "I CAN DO IT!"

I'm not in a hurry to get in touch, as you can probably imagine.......xx
Im on there and used to use it a lot.
I have subscribed twice and got in touch with a couple of people. The best story for me was a friend i was at school with and then we went to work for the same company but different salons so we ended up going through college together. At the age of about 19 or so, we lost touch!

I often thought about her and found her on friends although she couldnt message me back cause she hadnt subscribed but she found me on myspace and we have been in touch by phone and msn ever since. Its great to find an old friend like that!

I dont think many people really look on there anymore, i know i dont much these days! It doesnt seem to update and get any new names on there.
Er.......Pirate 1, I'm afraid I was/am guilty of being a 'phantom' classmate - though not deliberately.
I (and I'm sure many others who paid our fiver I ) also wished to add our spouses and kids and unwittingly via registration, added ourselves to their class too!
I've just checked and noticed that I'm still registered as being in the same form as my wife when we wern't educated in the same country and I never found a way of deleting it.

I must confess to not having looked at the site for perhaps a couple of years now as the novelty wore off after reading a few Walter Mittey lifestyles and they never answered my begging letters anyway!
