I am trying to find a simple way for a friend I am building a website for to update text files so as to be able to maintain the website himself. I have fund SmartFTP which appears to be free ftp software - is this too good to be true?!
It looks simple to use and esy to install and free....anyone know if this software is bad news or is it all good?

Can't remember that particular piece, but personally I'd say FileZilla is the best FTP client for windows, and it's free too.

Surprised that software is free? Most of the software I use is free!

I've used smartftp with no problems. IIRC (don't use it much) I generally have to upgrade/confirm that I want to keep the software when I use it, but this is once every 2 months or so - may not happen with regular use!
