When I reply using comment on fb, I have no emoticons to add to my comments. I have to use an independent web site copy and paste then go back an add to my comments. I just get blank squares.

Might be worth trying logging out and then log back in.

I always use them from my keyboard. I use an ipad so it may be different on a computer.

when I type a comment there are several little icons at the right hand side but inside the panel; the first one is an emoji, and if I click on it, dozens appear for me to select from. This is on a PC. If you haven't got them, tonyav's advice may well help.
